PIA suspends all flight operations to America

Breaking! Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has officially announced to suspend its flight operations to New York, United States of America (USA), with its last flight to take off on October 27. The suspension is primarily because of ‘low traffic’, which ultimately is causing a loss to the airlines.

Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan, Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation, has also confirmed the news claiming that the decision is being taken due to $.4 billion losses to the national flag carrier.

Earlier, the airline had already stopped booking for its twice-a-week flights to New York from November onwards. However, the operations are said to continue its two weekly flights of ‘Lahore-New York’ and ‘Karachi-Lahore-New York’ on Dec 31.

The airline has said to resume its flight operations until its financial health of the organisation improves. The national flag carrier is already facing acute financial crunch, therefore, it cannot operate on routes which are running in losses, an official said.
